* I want to get in shape this year, but I never feel like exercising in the morning."
What do these statements have in common? They all revel the power of emotions. What are emotions, anyway? According to Webster's an emotion is "a state of feeling... that prepares the body for immediate action."
We like to think we're logical people, basing what we do on sound reasoning and good judgment. But the Truth is emotions influence--and usually dominate--human behavior. As Psychologist Dr Arthur Freeman writes, "Too often common sense deserts us when we most need it and our so called better judgment is swamped by a tidal wave of emotion"
It is important to realize just how big a role emotions play in our lives. In fact,if you dont understand that, You will never understand people at all. It is vital to know how emotions work, so you can take control of them instead of letting them take control of you. As you learn the art of mastering your own feelings, your people skills will flourish. But uncontrolled emotions will derail your relationships every-time.

MLM Prospects, But Employee Mind Set?
Hello Beautiful Minds,
I saw a comment from a successful internet marketer this week that I think is very important to consistently remind yourself of.
Almost everybody we talk to about network marketing is an employee. They come from an employee mindset. Very few are actually business owners.
The employee mindset is: "OK. I really want to be successful on my own. I don't want to have a boss. I want to make more money. What do I do?"
The employee mindset is NOT: "OK. I'm going to work this out for myself and come up with my own business plan."
And the point this guy was making is, the most important word when you are talking to a prospect is "system."
Let me repeat that. Heck, let me SCREAM that.
THE MOST IMPORTANT WORD WHEN YOU ARE TALKING TO A PROSPECT IS:
SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM!
You've got to give them a step-by-step system. They have to see a system that can work for them. You have to show them how it has worked for others, and you have to show them, step-by-step, exactly what they will do with it.
But it's more than just that. Your prospect not only has the opportunity to use a system that is tested and proven to work, but they also have the opportunity to talk to their prospects about that tested, proven system - which every prospect needs and wants. It's really important. That is exactly what this guy is talking about.
You need to hammer prospects about the system. I mean, REALLY hammer them on this. Most prospects think, "Oh, this company has a great product. That's what I need." Or, "Oh, I'm personally sponsored by the heavy hitter. That's what I need." Or, "It's been proven that this compensation plan pays out 80%, and over 90% of the people who use it are successful."
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
Most prospects need to use the Success In 10 Steps ebook to have success, but some won't. Everybody knows that a new person needs a tested, proven system to start with. KNOWING YOUR WHY?
HELLO BEAUTIFUL MINDS,
The first and most crucial step in your new business is to write down Why you joined it in the first place. Even if you are not brand new, and you have done this before - revisit your Why. This is the MOST important thing you will ever do. It will provide you with an unbreakable foundation, and will give you the very reason it will be worth going through the inevitable ups and downs you are sure to experience on the path to success. Furthermore, knowing your Why will also give others personal insight into your motivation behind why you are sharing your opportunity and products with them.
We have all heard this in many different forms.
"If you create the WHY, then the HOW will show up..."
"...if you do not know WHY you are going somewhere, you will most likely get lost...."
"If your Why doesn't make you cry, it's not strong enough".
We'll put it to you this way...first and foremost, when talking to a prospect, it is important to keep in mind that most often they do not care about your opportunity. However, people DO care about YOU. More importantly, they are most interested in how this relates to THEIR lives and THEIR situation. Don't assume that others are going to get just as excited as you are about your business, just because you are bouncing off the walls and saying how great it is.
The stronger and truer your Why is to your heart, the more it will motivate you, and inspire others as well. If you have not done this already, start by asking yourself these two questions:
1. Why did I start this business; and
2. What was my purpose for joining a network marketing company?
Don't just say, "I wanna make a lot of money!" You MUST be certain and specific about your Why. It is critical that you are very clear about your Why and that it is close to your heart. It must become ingrained into your everyday dialog. Knowing your Why, and truly believing it, will set you apart from many others in this business and greatly assist you in your relationship building process.
Here are the top 3 reasons why you need to have a powerful Why.
1. It will keep you in the business. Quitting will not be an option.
2. It will motivate and inspire your downline to also work on their Why's which will keep them in the business.
3. It will inspire people to become and STAY your customers because they will know that their monthly purchase is not only helping them, but also helping a friend in a business venture.
Don't be like every other average frustrated networker in this business and overlook getting clear about your Why.
If you haven't done this yet, then you now know what is holding you back. Before tomorrow, write down your Why, rehearse it, share it with your everyone on your team, and ask them Why they joined your M.L.M. Create a healthy dialogue so everyone feels comfortable talking about their Why. Your Why may change over time, but for now it is crucial to start with where you are at in your current situation.
Over the course of your career you can continue to refine it and make it a better and better message until eventually people will be modeling your speech as an example for others to follow.
